Using EPFO Portal:
By visiting EPFO, the official site you can check PF balance. Click here to go to official site.
Go to Our Services-> For Employee, click on for employees. The above-shown picture will display, With the very first option Member Passbook. A new window will be opened, where you need to enter your UAN Number and Password to check your PF Balance. By entering UAN number, Password and Captcha, click on Login. As shown below.
Then on the left side, you will be able to seek a file named with your PF number. Click on that to open and to PF Balance Check. As shown below.
This is a sample of downloaded pf passbook. you can also save this to your computer or on your mobile. Here you can see month wise pf contribution by you and your employer from beginning to end.

By Sending An SMS:
You can also check your pf balance by sending an SMS from your mobile number that is registered with your PF account. Before sending a message make sure your KYC has been verified by your employer or organization. If KYC is verified, follow below-given steps.
- EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899
Here EPFOHO means EPFO Head Office and UAN means your UAN number and ENG means your prefered language. You can also change your prefered language, Like Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati or in another language you wants to receive SMS.
Note: you have to enter only first three digits of the language. For example: For English, Use ENG. For Hindi use HIN.
By Giving A Missed Call:
You can also check your pf balance by just giving a missed call on a mobile number from your mobile number that is registered with your PF account. Before sending a message make sure your KYC has been verified by your employer or organization. If KYC is verified, follow below-given steps.
- Give a missed call on 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number.
- Wait for 5to 10 seconds.
- You will receive a message on your registered mobile number from EPFO.
By Using Umang App
You can also check your PF balance on UMANG App, Recently launched by IT and Electronics ministry of India. In this app, you can find multiple govt sites in a single app. You can download UMANG App from Google Play store. Here on the EPFO icon, by clicking on that you can find there an option to check your pf balance or to download your passbook.
